The Location App is the most widely used app across the RoveIQ fleet, providing users with an intuitive interface to search and navigate to locations on your map. By organizing locations into categories and ensuring your map is easy to explore, the Location App enhances user experience and improves engagement. This app is essential for helping users find businesses, landmarks, or amenities across various categories. Here’s how to create and configure your Location App.
Create a Location App

Navigate to the Apps Page:
- Go to Content and select Apps.
- Go to Content and select Apps.

Create a New Location App:
- Click on the (+) Bubble in the top right corner of the page and select Locations from the list.
- Click on the (+) Bubble in the top right corner of the page and select Locations from the list.

Configure the App Settings:
- Click on the Gear to configure the new Locations App
- Assign an icon that represents the location app.
- Choose a color to customize the app's appearance on the map.
- Click on the Gear to configure the new Locations App

Save the Location App:
- Once you have configured the icon and color, click Save to complete the setup.

- Save the Apps Page
- Scroll to the bottom of the webpage and click Save.
- Scroll to the bottom of the webpage and click Save.
Creating a Location App without nesting Location Types inside of it, will result in the Location app displaying ALL locations on the venue.
Place Location Categories in a Location App
Categories, or Location Types, can be displayed directly on the directory UI by nesting a Location Type app within a Location App. For example, this setup allows users to click on a Location App called “Retail” and then view categories such as “Men’s Fashion” and “Women’s Fashion.”

Create a Location Type App:
- Click on the (+) Bubble in the top right corner of the page and select Location Type from the list.

Configure the App Settings:
- Click and drag the newly created Location Type to nest it inside of your desired Location App
- Click on the Gear to configure the new Locations Type App.
- Name the Location Type App
- Assign an icon that represents the location app if you are using the City Template, Assign a Sub Menu image if you are using the Atlantic Template.
- Link a Location Type, or Category, to this location type app
- Click and drag the newly created Location Type to nest it inside of your desired Location App
